OUR LADY OF FATIMA

Hand carved wooden statue. Following the apparitions of the Virgin Mary near the town of Fatima, in Portugal to three little shepherds, the cult of Our Lady of Fatima was born. John Paul II was very attached to the Lady of Fatima, even affirming that thanks to her he was able to survive the attack suffered in 1981. Thousands of pilgrims go every year to the sanctuary of Fatima to pray to the Virgin and collect the miraculous water that see near the sanctuary.
