18kt yellow gold Saint Mark medal. Born into a wealthy family, he accompanied St. Peter on his missionary journeys to the East and to Rome and in this period he wrote the Gospel. He spent a great period of his life alongside the apostle Paul. According to the story he died a martyr in Alexandria in Egypt. Before his body was destroyed, he was stolen from the crowd and brought by two merchants to Venice, the city of which he is the patron saint.
